The Conservative Party has come a close 2nd in the Trinity Ward By-election, with just 2 votes marking the candidates apart.
It was always going to be a tough fight, with the Conservatives never having won Trinity before, but Daniel should be proud of his valiant attempt and his efforts have not gone unnoticed.
In what was a straight fight between Labour and the Conservatives, it was a hard fought and clean campaign with both candidates giving it their all, including dawn raids, but alas it was Labour who secured the eventual win, with the vote going right down to the wire including one recount, but it was just not meant to be for Daniel as he lost by just two votes.
After the count Daniel said 'I want to firstly congratulate Julie on her victory. We both fought incredibly hard, but this time the voters have decided to stick with the status quo. I feel immensely proud having come so close and I've met so many of the incredible people of Trinity on this campaign. This was my first campaign and I've really enjoyed it. I'm gutted to have not been elected, but I'll be back'!
