The newly elected Conservative Town Councillor for Sutton on Sea South Ward is Cllr Colin Matthews who won with almost 50% of the vote.
Cllr Matthews said "This was a really important election. I offered myself for co-option last year and the Town Council decided others had more to offer, however almost 50% of the electorate have decided that they want a Conservative Town Councillor who will represent them on the real issues that will effect their daily lives".
Cllr Dan Turner, Deputy Chairman of the Association said "We fought a very good campaign, and it was great to see so many party members and supporters coming out and supporting Colin during this clearly political election. I know Colin wishes to thank everyone who came out to make the effort to support, campaign and vote for him. What's more, as I hold responsibly for Membership of the party within the Constituency, I was pleased to confirm the delivery of 15 new membership forms during this by-election alone which is great news for the party".
