Siobhan Weller, East Lindsey District Councillor for Holton Le Clay & North Thoresby has been awarded a New Councillor bursary from the Conservative Councillor Association. The bursary, which is awarded to 10 newly elected Conservative Councillors was awarded to Cllr Weller who was elected in May 2015, after a successful application.
The bursary includes mentoring support, discount to CCA events, free publications and Councillor workshops and is open to all new Conservative Councillors, Portfolio Holders and Leaders. However it is awarded to only 10 successful applicants who must demonstrate why they should be awarded a bursary.
Speaking about becoming a successful applicant, Siobhan said, 'I am delighted to be one of the 10 Conservative Councillors accepted for a bursary across the Country as hopefully I can inspire more young women to get involved in local politics, and will also help me to make a bigger difference locally. I am especially looking forward to the workshops and frequent mentoring as I hope the knowledge and skills I learn will allow me to contribute more to local residents and to help lead East Lindsey District Council in the 21st century.
