It follows the decision of the local Conservative Association to hold an ‘open primary’ to find a replacement for Sir Peter Tapsell for next year’s General Election. There are three ways in which you can register to attend the open primary:
· Telephoning Louth and Horncastle Conservatives on 01507 693713
· E-mailing Louth and Horncastle Conservatives at [email protected]
· Writing to Louth and Horncastle Conservatives with your full details at 16 Eastgate, Louth LN11 9NE
The primary will take place on Monday July 28 at Franklin Hall in Spilsby and will involve candidates undergoing an interview, then a Q&A session from the floor before a vote from the audience.
Anyone living in the Louth and Horncastle constituency can take part as long as they are on the electoral register and register with the local Conservative Party before the event.
If you live in Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea or Alford, organisers are putting on a bus at £5 return to transport attendees to Franklin Hall – more information is available by contacting the Conservative Association.
Louth and Horncastle Conservative Association Chairman, David Andrews, said: “We want as many Louth and Horncastle residents as possible to get involved in the primary process so make a date in your diary for July 28.
“There are three easy ways to register – by telephone, e-mail or writing to us and we have even organised transport due to the constituency covering a vast area.
“By attending you will play a key role in helping us choose a new, able and energetic parliamentary candidate to take over the reins from Sir Peter Tapsell at next year’s General Election.”
