On an incredible night of victories for the Conservative party both locally and nationally, Victoria Atkins was elected as Louth & Horncastle's new MP.
In a hotly contested election, Victoria stormed to victory with the largest number of votes ever recorded in Louth & Horncastle.
In a seat held for many years by the Father of the House, Sir Peter Tapsell, Victorias incredible win means she continues the tradition of a Conservative MP representing the residents of Louth & Horncastle.
Speaking on the night, Victoria said:
"The sky is blue outside over Louth and Horncastle and the sky is blue and bluer over the country. Today is a special day with the 70th anniversary of VE Day. Just when the landscape of Louth and Horncastle shows what the people did to help this great country to win this battle for freedom, announcing the result of the General Election this morning is a very fulfilling way to pay tribute to that freedom we enjoy today. I now look forward to representing Louth and Horncastle and I will do my best to make sure the constituency has a loud voice in Westminster.”
