Victoria highlighted the substantial number of onshore wind turbines and windfarms currently blighting the landscape in parts of Louth & Horncastle, which have been paid for by subsidies.
Lincolnshire colleague Matt Warman MP concurred during his speech, noting that, “these developments emphasise why it is only right we give local communities a greater say over onshore wind farms.”

Following the debate Victoria said,
“I have lobbied Ministers and campaigned relentlessly for local people to have a greater say on wind turbines being built on our landscape. I am delighted that the Government has listened and is delivering our Manifesto commitment to allow local communities to have the final say on onshore windfarms.
I also welcome the removal of subsidies for onshore windfarms. Government support has driven down the cost of renewable energy and it is right that subsidies should be reduced in line with falling costs.
We must ensure that generating renewable energy does not place too great a burden on families’ bills in Louth & Horncastle.”
