The introduction of this formula will see the biggest step towards fairer funding in over a decade – ensuring that pupils receive funding that genuinely matches their need.
It will also ensure that pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds continue to receive significant additional funding to overcome entrenched barriers to their success.
Victoria said,
“I welcome the news that the Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, is tackling the uneven levels of funding across Britain’s schools.
Today’s announcement shows that the Government is listening to concerns I have raised in debates and privately with Ministers regarding achieving fair funding for school pupils in Louth & Horncastle.
It is imperative that children educated in our area have the same opportunities as elsewhere in the country and I fully support the announcement of a new system based on levels of need, which will benefit young people here in Louth & Horncastle.”
